I wanted to drop in and thank those who take the time to contribute and share their knowledge and experiences for the rest of us to learn from.
I experienced the same problem with my Battery light coming on my way home from work. I checked a few basics and it was off to PowerStroke I go.
After following your collective instructions I rant to Vatozone to test the alternator as it was my last possibility. That was the problem! I replaced it in a whopping 15 minutes (Disconnected both batteries, belt, bolts, swapped alt, and whala). The only thing easier that I've swapped was the fuel filter.
