Had a K&N drop-in when I bought my truck. Immediately switched to a stock drop-in and now I have a DIY Tymar using a Baldwin PA2818 filter and a short section of 4" S.S. exhaust pipe. It is awesome. Opens it up! Try it. I'll trade my drop-in K&N for your open filter if you decide you don't want it.
