Could you explain 'Compressor Surge' please? This is my first diesel vehicle, and I'm still learning. We just made a small trip this past weekend, and I made it a point to more closely observe when it was happening. The hiccup appears to be more noticeable below 10 pounds boost, and just cruising (just holding my speed). Where it can get really violent is if I'm pulling over 10 pounds boost and for what ever reason, take my foot off the accelerator, then it almost feels like I stomp the brakes 2 or 3 time in rapid sucession, then all seems OK.

Just got a safety recall from Continental Tire and had my truck checked. They have to replace all except the spare. When they get the replacement tires in, I'm going to see if there is some sort of diagnostic that can be ran on the brake controller, because, the only time I get the surge or hesitation as you will, is when the trailer is connected.

I've turned the boost all the way off (for just a short distance) and it didn't seem to have any effect, and the only other option along that lines is to unhook the trailer cord, and I ain't got enough danglies to do that.
