You should be able to skip the 18k since you are running the Edge. That is a fancy 10k/18k/etc. You will see little or no difference.
Any mods can hurt your truck. If Ford wanted it to have more power they would have done it from the factory. They spent a lot of time and money on research to give you THE MOST RELIABLE truck they could. Just my .02.
