Those filters are "Trade size 4" filter bags and can be found and any filter supply store. 5 micron rated.

What makes this different from a Bio filter, as far as filtering goes? Just a whole different process together? I know I can get the various plumbing and fittings at no cost, I already have a 55 gallon drum, I may be able to get some sort of a pump as well. Is there anything special to look for in a pump and a HWH?

Unless y ou are using PH oil, it will still flow with a good pump to move it from the barrel to the HWH. Sure it will flow better when warmed up a little but you wouldn't HAVE to heat the barrel. I don't know much about Bio-filtering other than you need to water wash the oil for Bio-D i think.

I have not used it yet but i will in a week or so. The new housing should work exactly the same as the other one with easier access to the removal of dirty filters and a over all smaller unit. Filters for this unit are easier to find also...and a few bucks cheaper than the filters for my other unit - but they are also smaller and may not last as long, that is yet to be determined.

Do you pour the oil into the hot water tank via the beer bottle? Please clarify as it could get kinda messy pouring 50 gallons of thick oil through a beer bottle. There has to be an easier way or am I missing something?
Sorry man I couldn't resist. Thanks again .

LOL, the beer bottle should be for nothing other than holding cold barley and hops water for your cunsuming pleasure while you get old used fryer grease all over your hand. It makes it a tad more enjoyable to get greasy! But then again, thats just how us

do things...
