If I owned a sicks-leaker, the first thing I would do is pop the HG while it was still under warranty and have studs put in then add power and not have to worry about it. As far as one tuner being safer than another one, the only safe way is to keep your foot out of it and watch the gauges. That being said I would get the SCT.
