Ditto to what everybody said about a heavier cord. You can get a good quality heavy duty cord at an electrical supply store. Mine has an LED in the female plug so I can look outside and make sure that the heater is getting current as sometimes heavy rain/snow have tripped my GFI. Tucking the plug under your bumper will help to avoid this if parked outside.
