The symptoms sound to me like fuel starvation, eg weak fuel lift pump in frame rail below drivers seat or fuel filter, i know you replaced it but just what it sounds like, dont sweat the people giving you a definitive no it wont work. i think you have a coincental failure of cps or lift pump...
