LSD could be around until 2010.

It's probably impossible to find in some areas, but some offroad diesel could be LSD. This will probably cause a lot of unwanted problems with the 6.4. It was rumored that red dye would cause problems with some diesel engines due to an optical sensor in the rotary injection pump. This was not true. There has been some talk of a special sensor that would disable the vehicle if red dye was detected. ???

The price where I'm at now is $3 for red diesel. It would take a lot of tank fulls in your PSD to make up the $10,000 fine. If you can't afford to pay it you will probably have the truck confiscated.

Then again if someone is using red diesel on the road they are a thief. I guess they could just rob someone to get the $10,000.

Financially it makes no sense. If you figure 10% savings and only getting caught one time. You would need to use $100,000 in fuel to break even.

It's not like you see off road diesel at every service station. Someone would be crazy to pull up and fill there truck with red diesel.
It's highly likely that someone may be stealing the diesel to start with. That way your looking at free diesel vs saving 10%.
