Question 6.0L Hiccups?

Need some ideas, folks.

Have a 2006 F350 with the 6.0L PSD. Have less that 6,000 miles on it. When I'm not towing, the things runs like a scalded jackrabbit, but when towing .....

No problems on acceleration, or slowing down, but when trying to maintain my speed, with the trailer, the boost stays between 5 and 10 Lbs. The engine will hiccup (I don't have any better way of describing it, except to say that if it were a gasser, I would honestly believe I had a plug misfiring). Runs good for a few seconds, hiccups, runs fine, hiccups a couple times, runs fine, etc.

Had it in at a dealer in Austin TX when we were there for Thanksgiving. The only problem they found and corrected was a bad O rings on a couple injectors. Fixing that did help power, and milage, but still have the hiccups. Now, I've got it in the dealer where I bought it. It's driving the tech up a wall trying to diagnose the problem. Says there are no codes in the computer, and they are unable to duplicate the problem. He mentioned the next step is to hook up some sort of computer doohicky to it, have me pull the trailer, and when it hiccups, push some sort of button so they will have a reference or something when digging deeper.

Guess if that's what they gotta do, they gotta do it. The problem is that there is a waiting list, and it may be a few weeks before they can do it. In the mean time, has anyone else heard of this type problem, and what could be the possible fix? The tech has been really receptive of any suggestions or comments I've made so far. I'm really pleased with the way they have bent over backwards to find out what's going on.

Thanx in advance folks.

Larry
