My oldest daughter just brought her ford expidition in and told us her headlights where blinking and sometime didn't want to stay on. After a careful exam I found that the plugs at the headlights where melted. I also found out that Ford stocks new plugs to replace them with because it is a very common problem. So then I tried to figure out why it was a common problem. This is what I learned. My truck and her car where built in CANADA. The wire that runs to the headlights on her car is 22 gauge and mine is 22 on low beam and 16 on the ground and high beam. I checked an American made Ford that was in the shop and found that there wire to the headlights is 16 and 14 gauge. I can see why Canada can underbid us and why everybody has trouble with canadian built units. So the next time someone ask what is the differance between American and Canadian built units you cand say that Canada built units weight less but its only because it has less copper in the wire harness. Good Luck Mike OB
