I had brought my truck into the local Ford garage to get it scanned. They told me the wastegate or egpbvxyz or whatever you call it was gummed up and that the solonoid on the pedistal was bad. told me $900.00 to replace. Then I had posted on here about the problem. The replies told me to just wire open the wastegate? So I took off the arm from the solinoid and also unplugged the solinoid. Then opened the valve and wired it so it would stay open. The way I understood it was that by keeping the valve open it would just take longer for the truck to heat up??? I'm not mechanical, all I did was do what I was told. On the tank before I opened up the valve, I only got 8.5 mpg. After I opened it, 20.5 Just to clarify... the part that I'm talking about is the buterfly valve that is located at the mouth of the turbo. I will take a pic and post it.
