I'm new here and was wanting a little input...
I recently found an exhaust leak on my '00 F350 7.3L Dually and went to the Ford Dealership for a quote to get it fixed. It's leaking from the exhaust inlet to the turbo "Y" on the driver's side. The mechanic told me that it wasn't just a quick "doughnut" gasket swap ant that the turbo has to be pulled, the "Y" and both pipes replaced and after $1100 it'll be good as new. Is he blowind smoke up my a@# or is he right. I have worked on vehicles for some time and can surely turn a wrench and after looking at the problem myself I think that I can pull the pipe from the bottom using a long extension and a wobble and pray that I dont snap a bolt. If the turbo needs to be pulled to do this repair, is there a kit that will keep this from happening again or am i stuck with oem parts. Any help will be accepted....Thanks
