It is a good safety item to have, when I drove for WCW Wrestling, my truck weighed at least 70,000 lbs all the time, the jake saved a lot of brakes, especially on hills and in the mountains. I could come off of a mountain, now I may be going slower than was required but, I wouldn't hardly use the brakes at all, let the engine do the work. I also had dual exhaust on the T-2000 I drove with mufflers so it wasn't overly loud.
