curious to see some reviews
hey i've stated a few times on these forums that since my 04 f350 6.0 blew up i was planning on trading it in as is, and my best friend is signing over to me his 2000 f350 with the 7.3. i would like to know what problems you all have had, and what you have replaced on it, and what was the mileage when they were replaced. he is the original owner after 109k and some change miles. all he has replaced other than routine maintenance stuff[fuel filters/air filters/oil filters/tune ups, belts, hoses, tires, brake pads] was that camshaft sensor at like 85k, and now the transmission is done, but we currently have another that we have not put in yet due to lack of time, and a few others things we are working on. i have a friend with a 97 f350 with 287k and change on the clock. i replace a lot of his stuff for him because he knows he won't have to pay me as much, and he will give me some of the jobs he has with his company. it went up to 275k with other than the routine maintenance only replacing 2 transmissions[first one lasted until 60k some odd and was from hitting a pole, and continuing to drive it, and burning up the front end and trans] second lasted almost 200k, one radiator from that accident, and front axle, one alternator that went over 200k, one of those camshaft positioning sensors, fuses, and 2 water pumps. however since 275k i've replaced his heater core for him, someone else changed his turbo for him, i've did a starter, and a fuel pump, and after i fixed that his front brake line snapped, and the carrier bearing went bad as well and i replaced that, and another camsensor, and he still needs some front wheel bearings that are noisy. my buddy who is giving me the 2000 jokes that the dude should just sell me his 97 for parts even though i don't think everything is compatible between the two. so besides all that mindless nonsense just curious what went, and what mileage. thanks.
