I am in the market for a 99-03 7.3 crew 4x4. And am obviously going to be doing some upgrades, ie. lift engine mods, trans mods, etc. How safe is to start moding the engine on a high mileage engine, I realize that it has a lot to do whith how well it was maintained but should I not consider purchasing a truck if it has over a certain amount of miles on it. I plan to have the pickup for quite a long time so a fixer upper would be out of the question, I would rather spend money moding than fixing(isn't that how we all are). Alos what should I be on the look out for in that truck Any help would be greatly appreciated.
