I've never ran into any issues either as I said, I use Amsoil's diesel additives though.

I have to agree they (whoever refines this stuff from the get-go?) would be required to make a fuel that is backwards compatible without any fuel treatment per tank, the logic behind that is not everyone uses fuel additives, and I believe just by a guess this outweighs the fuel additive users.

As technology advances, so does the fuels.. so there is a limit on how far you can stretch before old technology needs a little something to keep going with more refined and less whatever fuel, but I think in all of our diesels, we could just add only fuel every fillup and never have an issue.. whether or not that is true, I'm not going to be the one to find that theory out.
