every one should be like that. if we get careless, the gun haters will pass more laws that makes it harder to buy, hold, or even look at one.

its still somewhat strict here in tx atm.

As much as I love my RIGHT to keep and bear arms, I don't agree with alcohol being in the mix . Somebody is going to be an alcohol tuff guy, and just pull a gun, you watch it'll happen eventually

I don't agree, it is a criminal act to consume alcohol and tote your gun and educated gun toters know that. This law doesn't allow you to ignor that fact, it simply allows you to carry it in a resturant while you eat - even though they serve alcohol.

I see your point, and hope that a responsible gun toter will do just that, be responsible. There is always one douche out there that will ruin it for everyone . This law DOES allow you to carry into a bar, some will get carried away with the beer, and possibly loose control. I'm not saying it WILL happen, but it could.

licensed gun carriers didn't get their license from a history of irresposibility. The responsibility that comes with CC is huge and somewhat scary as i remember it from the class and i know I personally would leave the gun locked in the truck if i were going to pound a few beers. Even trying to defend yourself with a gun in a lagit situation that would justify such action, if doing it while intoxicated would land you in Jail i think.
I think others would be wise enough to do the same for the most part. The guy that gets drunk and out of control is the same guy who would break a barstool across your back if he didn't have a gun to kill you with and that guy probably has a wrap sheet that kept him from getting a CC license.

You're right, but people change when they are intoxicated. You could be responsible gun owner when you walk in the bar, and turn into a raging anus later. I know people that change, and if they drank the wrong alcohol, they were violent and sometimes abusive. That's all I'm saying

Personally, I am a happier than sober type drunk

You have a valid point but again, as a general rule, i don't think a "responsible" gun toter would put himself in that position anymore than a responsible person would allow himself to get drunk and try to drive himself home.
Theres always going to be exceptions and those will be delt with justly i'm sure but i do not see it being a large problem.

You all are assuming that everyone leaves their guns in the car when they go into a bar.

I think you'd be pretty interested to know how many people don't give a crap and take their guns in anyways. It's concealed, who's gonna know?

Is this a state law where you live? I am unaware of any federal law stating you cannot consume alcohol while carry a firearm.

I guess that might just be me, I hope and trust that responsible people will not ruin it for the rest of them.
