Fuel Pump Time

Recently I've heard a squeeking or chirping noise coming from the general area of my fuel pump. It's most noticeable at a 40 mph cruise, and stops when I let off the loud pedal.
So, I thought I'd start checking prices on a replacement fuel pump, moost likely a Motorcraft. Well, I hit the internet and began shopping and found some severe price differences. They range from $258.15 to $413.99. All for the same new Motorcraft pump. No reman's or rebuilts, just new.
Anyway, I'll find the one I want, and make the change. What special tools are needed for the job? Or, is it just a straight change out? Is there a thread I didn't find in my search?
