Mine is a 2004 6.0 and the water in fuel light has been on since day one. McRee Ford has claimed to have fixed the problem......fact they were made out of poor quality steel and corrode causing the water in fuel light to stay on. It only took a teaspoon to set mine off.

it was the aluminum portion of the cap of the housing that was corroding on yours.......and the 6.0 sensor is VERY sensitive.....
