They might have misunderstood you even more, they probably think you want some type of tuning done as well besides just strapping down and spinning the rollers to see what the numbers are with the tunes "you" already have on the computer be it a chip, SCT, or whatever.
There's a Volkswagen speed shop with a dyno about 10 minutes from my house, their prices were high as well, it was over $100 bucks/hour I think, plus they mentioned they don't have some "sensor" that reads the torque? I thought all dynos read the torque, but somehow convert to get HP numbers?
At first I thought they didn't want to see over 600 ft/lbs of torque on their dyno since it's probably doesn't make it up there a lot. LOL
