No I don't think so the hpop takes engine oil and boosts the pressure to around 3000 psi give or take some and that is what fires the injectors hydraulically or the mechanical part of course there is the electrical part as well. As far as I know the 7.3's only have one fuel pump that feeds the fuel from the tank to the engine. I am wrong all the time so Im sure someone will chime in and give the correct info
