I have a 2002 F-250 Crew Cab 4x4 short box.
Never had a t-case problem, ball joints replaced at 120,000 miles, wheel bearings are still oem and have 150,000 miles on them, glow plugs still oem with 150,000 miles on them, although I am going to replace them this summer.
These trucks are built rock solid, if they are driven hard and worked hard but yet well taken care of they will last for ever. Your body will fall apart before the engine stops running.
Common problems, cps (cam Position Sensor), ball joints, tranny, wheel bearings. Those I would say are the most common things I hear people talk about.
I change my oil every 5,000 miles I run only Rotella 15w40 and I use only fram Oil Filters. I also change my fuel filter every oil change.
I am not saying what I do will have your truck last longer then normal but it is what works for me.
