Hello everyone.
About 2 weeks ago I purchased a used 2000 F250 PSD and have a few questions as I am new to the diesel world. I hopped on google and searched for some diesel forums and thankfully found this wealth of information here. The truck specs are:
2000 F250 7.3l PSD Crew Cab 4x4
141,500 miles
Airraid intake
Banks 4" exhaust
4" lift with 33" tires
Other then that I believe everything is pretty stock.
I need to do an oil change and really don't have the time to do it myself this week (I am going on a little trip next week) so I called a few places for prices and what oil they use. They all said they used "dello" which from an internet search I am assuming is made by Chevron. Unfortunately, a search here on powerstroke.org for "dello" doesn't return any information as most people say to run Rotella. Does anyone have any suggestions on if I should go this "dello" route?
My second question is regarding the weight. I"ve noticed a lot of people on here saying they run Rotella 5 - 40. In the owners manual it says I should run 15 - 40. What are your thoughts on this?
My third question is regarding the CPS. I have no idea if the CPS has ever been changed in the truck. Since the CPS's are cheaper now should I go ahead and purchase 2 of the new grey ones and replace the one currently in the truck? I see a lot of people saying to just get a spare. Is there any advantage in changing my existing one with a new one if all is well?
My fourth question is about tires. I will need to get new tires before next winter. What is the max tire size I can use with the 4" lift currently on it? I don't want any rubbing etc. The 33's on it now seem small in comparison to the truck.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions and hopefully someday I will be experienced enough to answer some questions myself!
