That for the most part is 100% correct. However you can mount up to a 35" tire in the stock spare tire location AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST which routes more away from your spare tire location.

The other options are correct as you previously listed. I looked into all options and the Fabtech in bed kits are the cheapest and best ways to go about securing a spare into your bed.
