What tranny to get?
I pulled out in front of some traffic today and I hit the go pedal pretty good. Whan the truck shifted in to second I was pulling a conciderable amount of boost (about 25psi) and the tranny just went pop. I could not get the truck to move in Drive or Reverse after that. I think the torque converter blew up but I probaly should just get a new tranny. I have nearly 200k on the stock tranny.
I am looking for recomendations. I know I am in a pinch with the holiday coming up next week. I'd like the truck to be moving agian by next wekend but I am not sure if that is going to happen at this point. I have a 2000 Excursion, I have a TS 6 pisition chip, 4" exhaust and an intake. I'd like a tranny that could take much more power than what I am putting out right now though.
Manual tranny? Who has done the swap? Can it be done? Should I stick with the auto?
