I brought that up in a thread we had on them yesterday and here is what Josh told me -
"the stacks are for when he wants to race or pull. The over axel part of the kit is so the wife and kids don't complain the stacks are too loud... He has a diverter tube under the truck that allows him to run either exhaust exits..."
As far as your question goes Pat I vote straight back. I told my wife yesterday I was going to get them myself but now I'm backing off to do some more research. I'm hooked on the ones that guy has on his but I never considered the noise factor and my rig is loud as it is - maybe I'll do something similar to this guy in the picture. On a long trip I could see that the noise may be a bit much for the wife and kids especially with the stacks right behind their heads. I think I'd cut my over the axle off under the rig and turn it down. That way I could use it on trips and it wouldn't be seen.
