Get a 6.0 I/C and then check the temps. If you're still not satisfied try a different housing/wheel or charger. Both of course come after you do all supporting mods IE: intake/exhaust etc...
Also, you can run @ 1200*'s all day long and not hurt a thing. Once you start shooting into the 1250+ area for sustained periods is when you gotta worry! You can slow down and run higher RPM's and that should lower your egt's a bit too.
I'm currently making around 320-330 rwhp and over 700 ft/lbs, and in 65 degree temps towing a GCVW of 17,500 (give or take a few lbs) I can stand on it from a dead stop up a hill and I'm at 65 before I hit 1200*s....
