power stroke engines are controlled by what i call fly by wire setup , no cables or linkages engine controlled by pcm which gets its signal from the tp sensor mounted on accelerator pedal inside , the higher the reading the pcm gets from the tp sensor , the higher the engine revs , the tp sensor can go bad , truck will crank but wont go any where when goes out
