I drove only like 4 miles in the sand in 4x4 and when I got off the beach, I noticed my truck would not shift into third. I assumed it was the 4x4 still on, but hubs are not locked and the light is off.
I tried going manually from 1st to second then to drive with the OD on and also in the off position.
My fluid showed a little high (but it was hot) but smelled like what can only be described as a burnt clutch smell.
The fluid felt a little thin to me but the color and clarity seemed perfect. At first I was thinking I needed a new shift kit, but now I am kinda getting worried.
The OD light was flashing until I shut the truck off and I am kina at a loss since everyone is closed up for the weekend. Any and all help, bumps and advice greatly appreciated.
