As far as what i do with it, it sits in my driveway... It used to be the wifes DD, but when she started working .8 miles from home it got parked. No need to drive a diesel such a short distance. And I am military and never home to drive it. it is 2 years old and has 26000 on it, with 22 of those in the first year. It has towed something 5 maybe 6 times, and the heaviest load was 8000lbs.
Im just commenting that my owners manual doesnt call for a 30k flush like the op stated was necessary. its a good idea yes, but not required. And I'm not sure what cheap is, but a trans flush, done right isn't cheap. Cheaper than a tranny yes. but i would have to intend to keep this truck long enough for that to become and issue.
Because I am in the Cold North my dealership tells me i have to use the Extreme Conditions service regiment in regards to all of my maintenance... In my opinion if i was pulling heavy loads all the time...perhaps yes every 30,000 would be a good thing to do...but every other vehicle (cars) i have indicated 80,000 or 100,000 km between tranny flushes and that was with a non synthetic fluid. Since my truck was not being used as intended I am not overy concerned with missing the initial flush at 30,000.

Best i have found here is now $350 at the other ford in town. I think i am going to start phoning the dealerships around Minot ND. Its only a 4 hour drive and we are looking for an excuse to go down and do some shopping anyways.
