Rear Brake Problem?

Hello all,

I have an early '99 F-250, 4x4. Within the past couple of weeks, the rear brakes make a rubbing/shutter/grabbing noise/action. When you're braking from highway speed down to about 30-40mph you don't notice it, but once you are almost to a stop, they feel like they want to grab. It feels horrible, and have read around here for a little bit, and found some information on some slide pins possibly needing lubrication (however, this was in the 6.0 forum)?

It started after I had to hit the brakes very hard to avoid slamming into the rear of a Camry after she decided to take a left on impulse with no blinker at 55 mph.

I haven't had time to take the wheels off, yet, and have already bought the pads and rotors just in case. But I figure it might be something else besides just need pads and/or rotors, since it started kind of all of a sudden. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue? Or if there is a known issue like this?

Thanks for your help, guys!
