Late for work..........CMP ?

Hey guys,

I bought a used 2002 F350 7.3 turbo diesel last September (2008); it had 184,000 miles and currently has 191,000 miles.

I had the CMP sensor changed under the Ford recall (October 2008). It ran great for about a month. Then one day I drove it into town (20 miles) and I shut it off while I went into a store. Came back ten minutes later and it wouldn't start; I cycled the key a few times and tried starting and nothing; ten minutes later it started.

No problems for two weeks then it does the same thing; after that incident the truck ran great all winter (temperatures down to -40 celcius).

Fast forward to last Saturday (June 27, 2009). I drove 20 miles and the truck stalls like someone turned the kay off............10 minutes later it starts and I get home which was only 3 minutes away. Later that day I drove 10 miles and it stalls on the highway................15 minutes later it starts and then stalls 5 minutes down the highway.................another 30 minutes later it starts again and I'm able to get to my buddies (10 miles away) wedding which I was an hour late for.

The next day I drove home from the wedding (20 miles away) without any problems............it idles and runs nice.

The day after this I drive 50 miles to work without any problems. Coming home 2 days later I stall in the first 3 miles.................20 minutes later it starts and I make it home (47 miles).

I was able to get a friends scanner on it and pulled the following codes:

P1209, P1211, P0603, P0340


I disconnected my batteries two weeks ago to clean the terminals and I'm assuming that is why I got the "P0603" code ?

I am also guessing that the CMP sensor could be faulty even though Ford replaced this less 8000 miles ago ?

I'm also wondering if a faulty CMP sensor would cause the other codes to be triggered ie; P1209, and P1211 ??

This truck is the only transportation I have (and I am a diesel newbie) so any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am going to get a new CMP sensor in the next few days and try that. It also seems to me, from reading through old posts, that I have the symtoms of a failing IPR or ICP ??
