Front tires scalloped...

I walked past my truck today, and something caught my eye on the front tires. I felt the shoulders(outside) and they are scalloped. I only have 4000 miles on the truck.

I made a long road trip 2 weeks ago, and checked the air pressure before ii left. It was fine all the way around. At highway speeds (70MPH), I felt a little vibration in the front, which hadn't been there before. Then today, i noticed the scalloping.

Should I take it back to the dealer for service? Or should I take it and have it aligned? I don't recall hitting anything, and I don't (haven't had the opportunity) take it off road. Any suggestions?
