Replaceing the shifter/knob assembly is not diffucult, and the new one will come with the knob, button, wires with clip-in type end... had one replaced in my '94 gasser, I think the parts were less than $60 for shifter, knob, button, etc. Took my buddy the mechanic less than an hour to do... and he's slow.
