The IAT stands for Intake Air Temperature, and that's what it reads. The PCM calculates the volume of fuel needed by calculating the volume of air the engine is consuming using the IAT as well as the Barametric pressure sensor and a host of others. It is located in the intake on the drivers side runner near the plug for #2 injector. Kind of behind the fuel filter. Mine was pluged up with carbon when I took it out. This pic is from a magazine I just read.
