I bought my truck last summer when the diesel was high and the dealers couldn't give them away. I was originally going to buy a smaller crew cab truck to pull my camping trailer and get better mileage day to day, but the more I thought about it, the more a diesel made sense. I was driving a 5.9 gas Ram 2500 and with the diesel I figured I was paying on average 25% more for fuel but it got almost 50% better mileage and had way more towing power. I bought it for around $6k less than book so it was kind of a no brainer for me and now I have the flexibility of using bio diesel or even making my own fuel if I need to save a little. I'm really glad I bought it. I don't think I'll ever be able to drive a gas truck again.....
