No doubt, if the motor goes into production, they will refine it and people will mod it...only time will tell. Factory numbers don't necessarily dictate potential but if you look at what has been done with Powerstroke, Cummins and Duramax with regards to tuning, the stock numbers are a good indicator of what can be done with the tuning...
There's a can of worms for y"all to play with tonight.

also though, your point isn't very valid. The 7.3 is old technology when compared to the 6.0 and 6.4. Think of it this way. If the 6.4 was the same engine it is but it was 7.3L it would probably be that much more of a beast. The 7.3L as it is, is limited by it's older technology. See what I'm sayin'?

Same with the toyota it is 8.0L and it has common rail injection and it has a VGT. When you look at ford, increases in technology clearly dictate power levels. so, if you Take 8.0L of engine and give it modern technologies, the potential IS there to have some mighty numbers.
This second statement more or less goes WITH what I'm saying. I NEVER stated that this Hino engine was superior to the big 3, I simply stated that it has potential and if you look at 300hp and 500lb/ft from a big diesel engine using modern technology, it is relatively close to the other comparative engines in stock levels, although not quite as high. therefore looking at what has been done to the other engines in this trucks market as far as aftermarket stuff goes, one could say that the Hino could benefit from the same things as the other diesels. THEREFORE YES! it has potential, thanks for agreeing
to me it just sounds like you have something against Toyota

there is probably a stick hiding somewhere in your body, you should pull it out
