As of December 31st, 2009 Ford and Navistar are FINISHED. This means Navistar will no longer be the supplier of diesel engines to FoMoCo for their light duty trucks. For 2009, Ford still uses the 6.0L diesel for their E-Series vans and the 6.4L for their F-Series trucks. For 2010, there will be no diesel engine option available for E-Series applications, so fleet companies, ambulances and other businesses requiring E-Series vans for heavy applications will have to make do with the V10 engine FOR NOW. For F-Series trucks, Ford's heavily rumoured 6.7L "Scorpion" diesel engine will be replacing the Navistar supplied 6.4L. The rumoured output of this engine will be 390 BHP and 720 ft.-lbs. This will be Ford's very first "in-house" built diesel engine available in light duty truck applications.
