As long as you don't make sharp turns and your not going fast or far. You should be ok, when my carrier bearing went out on my rear driveshaft I limped home 40 miles using 4wheel drive with the rear driveshaft removed. Also since you are doing work on the rear driveshaft, might want to inspect the carrier bearing and might want to think about replacing it since you already have the driveshaft removed. Just a thought though.
