Yeah I bet a cast aluminum intake could be pretty heavy. It is a great idea on a stock car for weight loss. Just not on the top of the performance list I guess. What really surprises me is that those plastic parts can withstand the heat. They must make those parts with some special plastic thats diff then what come to mind when I see a milk jug. I noticed today that the plastic crank case vent on my 6.4 is only about 2 inchs away from a turbo housing. I guess I figures it would get hot then get brittle but I guess not.
