Guys, i am new to the forum and have a question for you since you are in my climate. My 2001 7.3 wont start after being run low on fuel. It didnt run out, but was close. My wife oicked up a piece of furniture with it and was "scared to put the wrong fuel in it" so she brought it back on empty. Our driveway has a bit of an incline as well. I took another vehicle to the gas station and got 5 gallons of diesel, and put it in the truck. Tried to start it and it turns over but wont fire. I did fuel filters a year ago. Any ideas?

If adding more diesel doesn't work, try replacing your fuel filters. When you run the trucks low on fuel, they push the sediment at the bottom of the tank through the filters and can plug them up quickly. It wasn't as big of an issue on the 7.3 but on the 6.0 +, they're more succeptible. Since your truck is 12 years old, you may have a lot of sediment in that tank.

Thanks, if it doesnt work, i will take a look at the filters. The gas tank is only 5 years old, but im sure the same problem could apply. Since i always back in with the nose down, and this time my wife pulled it in nose first so its at mild incline, could that effect it? Oil isnt low...
